Telenor has launched Pakistan’s first ever 4.5G technology in the cities of Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore and Rawalpindi. This launch has shown the telecom firm’s relentless commitment to empowering Pakistan via a high-speed network that boosts the customer experience.
Sigve Brekke—the CEO of Telenor Group who has come to visit Pakistan on a 4-day agenda, inaugurated the 4.5G technology by making the first ever call over this advanced LTE network.
Presently, more than 80 per cent of Telenor Pakistan’s network supports 3g/4G services and the introduction of 4.5G services is an achievement towards bringing in the latest technology to Pakistan.

The CEO said that their vision is of a digital Pakistan where the fastly changing communication technology provides benefits to everyone. He also said that with the advanced LTE they would keep on introducing new technology that would be advancing the digital revolution in Pakistan.
Irfan Wahab Khan—the CEO of Telenor Pakistan said that Telenor’s 4.5G would be like a bridge for the future mobile data applications leading on towards the 5G technology. He said that the technology would be enabling them to provide must faster upload and download speeds while giving superior user experience by making sure of quick response time for applications and web services with the assurance of uninterrupted data experience.
He also added that the 4.5G would also give them the enthusiasm they need for driving the development of Information Technology and the technology-based solutions for the government, health, administration, home management and agriculture.
