Teachers and Students not required to bring COVID-19 Test reports says Punjab Govt

Punjab

On Sunday, the provincial healthcare department clearly said that the Punjab government has not made it compulsory for students and teachers to bring coronavirus test reports to the schools.

Back in March, all schools and colleges were closed down in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic but now all the educational institutes are reopening after noticing a decline in the COVID-19 cases.

The government decided to reopen all educational institutes from the 15th of September. Also, all institutions have been issued with preventive measures by the health authorities which will be followed by the management and students of the schools and colleges.

Mohammad Usman Younis Secretary Captain Primary and Secondary Health Care Department said that the government has not laid down any such condition for the teachers and students to bring their COVID-19 test results with them to the institutes.

However, once the educational institutes reopen, the government is going to carry out tests in the schools and colleges.

Younis further added that a random sampling will be done from every educational institution present in the district which have been marked as high risk for the coronavirus pandemic.

According to Younis, random sampling was the only requirement set up by the government. No schools, colleges, or universities have the power to ask for COVID-19 test results from the students or teachers, only the government can do so.

In case, if any teacher, students, or parent want to obtain details regarding the COVID-19 symptoms then they can call 1033. Moreover, the information is also available on all social media accounts of the Primary and Secondary Health Care Department.
