Ehsan Mani Chairman PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) says that this year T20 World Cup will be rescheduled to 2021.

New Zealand and Australia are the two countries so far which have managed to control the coronavirus situation and so they are concerned about their border situation. While talking to the media in a conference call the chairman stated that he doesn’t feel like any of event of the ICC is going to take place this year but he feels that the events will be held next year.

It will become a problem if any of the players get affected with the coronavirus in the middle of the tournaments, says the Former ICC Chief.

Still, the authorities are going to release their final decision after discussing it with the other participants. The final decision is expected to come out in the next 3-4 weeks.

As per Ehsan Mani, if this year’s T20 World cup will be delayed, it won’t cause any financial crises to the ICC.

Moreover, he said that the cricket board will make a final decision regarding the future of the 5th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) if the situation remains the same until December. Currently, the situation of the country is about to get worse and nothing is in control, says Ehsan Mani.

The cricket board did not guarantee that the domestic cricket will commence on time and the board was not going to compromise on the health of its players, said Ehsan Mani.

PCB Cheif spoke about the Asia Cup, which according to him is played to generate money for Asian countries like; Qatar, Bahrain, and Nepal as these countries will suffer a lot if the tournament is delayed.

He further stated that the decision to switch Asia Cup’s hosting rights with Srilanka was taken to improve the game in our region. The COVID-19 situation over there is better than the rest of South Asia and also the country is hopeful that the pandemic situation will be controlled by September.
