T10 Cricket League Facing Objections from Few PSL Franchises

Ever since the announcement of the launch of T10 Cricket League many PSL (Pakistan Super League) franchises are not happy. The T10 Cricket League is to be launched in Sharjah by the end of this year.

This league would entirely change the whole paradigm of the match. Each team would be given ten overs and the match would be over in just the span of ninety minutes.

T10 League would be featuring some big names of Cricket world like Afridi, Sangakkara, Sehwag, Eoin Morgan, Misbahul Haq and Shakibal Hasan. Even this arrangement is not much liked by a few PSL franchises who believes that this would possibly be causing harm to T20 league’s brand.

During an interview one of the franchise officials said that this mini league would damage the United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) market for PSL as many people would be attracted towards this new league.
T10 is being launched for the first time and at the same venue.

He further added that the issue would be taken up to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) because if the big cricket stars would be playing in this newly introduced pattern then the business would be affected for PSL.

Chairman PCB, Najam Sethi has already shown his full support for T10 earlier this week. He feels if all stakeholders are getting benefited PCB would fully be supporting the league.

President T1o League and the Owner of Karachi Kings (a PSL franchise), Salam Iqbal believes that this tournament would only be adding value to cricket’s overall growth like PSL has. PSL has proved a success, so this mini league would prove.

This T10 format is not new it’s been played on streets like the T20 format, said Salman Iqbal. He also said that this mini-tournament would bring thrill and fun in the lives of all cricket lovers.
