According to the report of the Sydney Morning Herald, Sydney is looking forward to hosting the Boxing Day Test between India and Australia.
Although, every year the Boxing Day Test is played in Melbourne from the 26th of December to 30th December. But this time, there is a possibility that the match will be shifted to some other city because of the coronavirus pandemic.
While talking with the Sydney Morning Herald Tony Shepherd Sydney Cricket Ground Trust Chairman said that Sydney would love to host the match this time as it is a major event and also good for the city. People love to visit Sydney more often and also there is a lot of capacity to host the match if Cricket Australia wants to do so.
This time, the cricket fans in Sydney will get to experience double matches as the city will be hosting the Boxing Day Test and the New Year Test, if Melbourne decides to shift it as well.
The host of the Boxing Day Test will be finalized in an upcoming meeting of Cricket Australia.
Perth and Adelaide are nominated for hosting the fixtures.
