Suzuki is launching Wagon R 7-seater variant in India by November. As per Team-BHP, the Maruti Wagon R 7-seater will enter into the production phase by September 2018. It will come in direct competition with cars like Datsun GO+ and the Renault RBC.
It was in 2013 in Indonesia where the Suzuki Wagon R three-row concept was first introduced at the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS). Suzuki informed that at that time they were looking for the market launch of the vehicle but it somehow got diverted. Now the idea is again surfacing into reality and hopefully, the 7-seater Wagon R will launch in India by November 2018.
The chances are that the new 7-seater Wagon R will most probably ride on the Heartect platform that is used in the new Swift 4th Gen. The currently available 5-seater Wagon R comes with a K10B 1.0-liter three-cylinder petrol engine. The chances are that the 7-seater Wagon R will come with a K12B 1.2-liter four-cylinder petrol engine to support for the extra payload.
In India, the price of 5-seater Wagon R is in the range of INR 3.5 lakh to INR 5.5 Lakh. The expected price of 7-seater Wagon R in India will range between INR 4 lakh to 6 lakh.
The expected features of the car include Touchscreen Infotainment System, Automatic Climate Control, Electrically Adjustable ORVMs, Power Windows on all 4 doors, and Reverse Parking Camera.
