Suzuki is to launch the automatic variant of Wagon R.
As per multiple media reports, Wagon R would soon be getting a new variant as Pak Suzuki is considering the idea of launching an automatic version in the coming months.
Five years back, Suzuki launched Wagon R and is presently only available with manual transmission.
As per the reports, Suzuki’s Wagon R would soon be having an automatic variant like the new Cultus and the recently introduced 660cc Alto.
The launch date of the new variant of Wagon R is not confirmed but as per credible sources, the automatic version of the Wagon R would be up for sale by year-end.
Presently, Wagon R comes in 2 variants—VXR and VXL. The base variant is VXR whereas the VXL comes with extra features.
According to the shared details, the automatic transmission would be provided with the VXL variant. The expected price of the new variant of Wagon R as follows:
Wagon R AGS—Rs.18 lacs (the expected price)
Wagon R VXR—Rs.15.4 lacs
Wagon R VXL—Rs.16.3 lacs
Despite the downturn in the auto industry, Wagon R has done good business. As per the data released by the PAMA, Suzuki has sold 32,614 Wagon R units in the 2018-19, and a surge of 12percent from 29,206 sold in the financial year 2017-18.
As per the data, Pak Suzuki aims to produce 76,000 units in the latter half of the year, in comparison to the 60,000 units produced in the first half of 2019.
