In the mid of the coronavirus outbreak, Pakistan is running out of the surgical masks and the cost has been increased by a thousand per cent, as per the reports of local media.
As per the local media reports, there is a shortage of surgical masks in the market. The packet of the surgical masks is being sold at Rs.1,000 in the market as the profiteers have become super active to make a good fortune out of the opportunity.
Two cases of the coronavirus have been reported in Pakistan while the first case of COVID-19 emerged in Karachi from a citizen who has flown back from Iran along with his family.
Dr Zafar Mirza, the Special Assistant to PM on Health had said on Twitter that two coronavirus cases have been identified in Pakistan.
As per sources, the patient from the port city is being kept in isolation at the Agha Khan Hospital, while the second person detected with the virus was under treatment at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Hospital, Islamabad.
It has emerged that the second patient had travelled via Lahore to enter into Islamabad, the test results of his family members are negative for the virus.
