Supreme Court gives four weeks for the restructuring of Pakistan Railways

During the hearing of a suo motu, the Supreme Court of Pakistan, over the plea of the Planning Commission has granted four weeks for the restructuring of the Pakistan Railways.

The top court of the country, during the hearing of the suo motu cases on the deficit of the Pakistan Railways, asked the provincial government of Sindh and Pakistan Railways to submit a report on the progress of circular railway in Karachi.

Justice Gulzar Ahmed—the Chief Justice of Pakistan has remarked that there is no bridge on the Indus River that the nation can be proud of and there is only a single beautiful bridge which is called Ayub Bridge, which was constructed during the tenure of Ayub Khan.

“The Karachi-Hyderabad Bridge can collapse at any time,” the top judge remarked adding the bridge built by the British in Kotri is still in the good condition.

The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court remarked that good bridged should be built for ML-1 project. Over the directives, the Secretary Pakistan Railways assured the apex court of the country that state-of-the-art bridges would be constructed.
