Sun to Pass Directly over the Top of Holy Kaaba today

The sun will pass directly over the top of the Holy Kaaba in Makkah at 2:18 pm Pakistan standard time, according to the astronomers. Muslims globally would be able to spot the Qibla just by facing the sun. It will pass over the top of the Holy Kaaba at Makkah.

The sun passes directly over the Kaaba a couple of times every year on 27th May and 15th July.

On another note Saudi Arabia made the announcement that lockdown restrictions imposed amidst the coronavirus pandemic will be eased across the country from next month. The Holy City of Makkah will be subject to strict measures. Due to the novel coronavirus, the Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages have also been affected. Every year pilgrimage attracts millions of travelers from around the world.

In an earlier article, we informed our readers that the Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia Abdul Aziz Al-Sheikhissued a decree saying that the Eid prayers could be performed at home under certain conditions. The decree has been issued at a time when the large religious crowds, congregational prayers which include the Namaz of Eid and Tawad in Haram is banned as a preventive measure to curb the spread of COVID-19.
