The district administration of Sialkot has established special jails for the residents found not wearing face masks and violating the other SOPs of the coronavirus issued by the government.
As per the assistant commissioner, the temporary jails have been established for the violators.
The jails have been established in tennis lines using barriers, tents, and carpets. Coldwater has also been made available at these prisons.

People found not wearing masks would be locked up inside the jails for 24 hours under Section 144 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
The assistant commissioner informed that initially an awareness program was run for educating the people about coronavirus precautionary measures, however, now they have taken the decision to ensure that everyone abides by the law.
A notification has been issued about the matter by the Deputy Commissioner of Sialkot, Nasir Mehmood.
So far Punjab has reported a total of 69,536 COVID-19 cases and 1,516 deaths so far. A smart lockdown has also been imposed in the various areas of the province for controlling the spread of the deadly pathogen.
