Shah Mehmood Qureshi—the foreign minister said on Saturday that South Punjab province would be established separately this year with its separate secretariat.
While speaking to the media in Multan, the foreign minister said that a separate Public Service Commission would also be formed for the suggested province. He said that they have wanted support from the opposition for the making of the Southern Punjab province.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi added that the present government firmly believes in the rule of law.
About the crackdown operation of NAB against the politicians, he said that all of the accountability supervisors’ cases were filed during the regime of the former governments.
He further said that politics of confrontation is not the policy of the government and that they are just imposing the court’s verdicts. The minister further added that Imran Khan believes in the supremacy of law and he even presented himself in the unjustified helicopter case.
While answering a question about the economy, FM Qureshi said the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, China and the United Arab Emirates are doing cooperation with Pakistan for the revival of economy owing to the sincere efforts and effective drafted foreign policy.
He also said that a delegation comprising of Malaysian investors which includes Mahathir Muhammad—the Prime Minister would be visiting Pakistan on the 23rd of January.
Imran Khan would be paying a visit to Qatar on the 22nd of January for further strengthening the bilateral ties between the two nations, he informed. He also mentioned that Qatar has announced to give 100,000 jobs to the people of Pakistan.
