The news has been circulating for quite a while now the Lucky Cement invested Rs. 12 billion in Kia Motors so that it can launch itself in the country.
In Pakistan, there is a strong automotive industry established. There is a healthy competition with Pak Suzuki Motors, Ghandhara Industries, Indus Motors Industry, Hondas Atlas, Hinopak Motors so on and so forth. In the midst of all these established companies, Kia Motors would have to find its own identity. The advantage Kia Motors has is that it is globally recognized. This would most certainly aid the company in Pakistan as well. Before this Kia Motors tried assembling cars in Pakistan but failed due to disappointing sales. Lucky Cement said that “The new venture will also market and sell, besides import and export of, all types of Kia vehicles, parts and accessories.”
