South Korean Company Plans to Establish a Factory in Pakistan

Dr. Won Ho Jung—the Busniess Division Head of Line Tech Inc Overseas, a South Korean company has informed that his firm is interested to make an investment in Pakistan for the making of different products which includes solar cells, LEDs, vacuum products, machine tools, and other items.

He announced this during his visit to the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) where he exchanged his views and opinions with the local business community.

In the initial phase, Dr. Jung said that the South Korean firm would be introducing its products in the country and at a later stage it has the plans of setting up a factory for the making of various goods with transfer of technology from South Korea.

He also said that his firm is also interested in establishing a water purification and water treatment plant in Pakistan as it considers Pakistan a potential market for doing business and making investments.

The company is currently importing leather from Brazil and would like to purchase it from Pakistan for which it was seeking credible leather exporters, as informed by Dr. Jung.

Ahmed Hassan Moughal—the President of ICCI on the occasion said that consumer products like solar cells, LEDs, vacuum products and others have got a huge demand in the Pakistani market and the South Korean firm should explore the possibility of establishing a manufacturing plant in Pakistan.

The Vice President of ICCI—Iftikhar Anwar Sethi gave assurance to the South Korean firm that ICCI would provide all possible support and cooperation in finding the right partners.
