South Korea Interested to Invest in Pakistan Railways

A delegation of South Korea was invited by the Federal Railway Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad to invest and seek business opportunities in Pakistani Railways. Sheikh Rasheed chaired a meeting at the Ministry of Railways with the Korean delegation and discussed investment opportunities in Pakistani. The possibility of upgradation of the Main Line-I, II and III projects was discussed.

South Korea Interested to Invest in Pakistan Railways

According to a press release, the Korea Rail Network Authority (KRNA) delegation visited Pakistan railways. The delegation was led by the South Korean Ambassador Kwak Sung-Kyu. The aim of the delegation was to find out investment opportunities in Pakistan. Korea Rail Network Authority is basically Transport Department of the Government of South Korea subsidiary.

Earlier we informed our readers that Sheikh Rasheed the Minister for Railways has made the announcement to give a 50% discount to students on tickets. The discount is from December 25th to 10th of January. So the offer is just for a limited time.

Also recently Pakistan Railways and China’s National Railway Administration have signed the Karachi-Peshawar railway line agreement. The agreement was inked relating to the Main Line-1 project. It was signed at the PR Headquarters.

By the end of November, Pakistan Railways inaugurated four new trains. These trains were the Sindh Express operating between Karachi to Sukkur, Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai Express operating from Karachi to Mirpur Khas, Faisalabad Express operating from Peshawar to Karachi and lastly Rehman Baba Express operating from Peshawar to Karachi.
