Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja the recently wedded couple, has now stirred a controversy regarding the violation of the Sikh beliefs. The duo got married on the 8th of May this year in Mumbai as per the traditional “Anand Karaj” ceremony.
This particular wedding was definitely among the biggest events in Bollywood. As per the reports, former Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee General Secretary—Sukhdev Singh Bhaur and the ex Panj Pyaras have accused the SGPC staffers of neglecting the “kalgi” (hackle) on the turban of the groom which was intact in the presence of Guru Granth Sahib. This as per reports has violated the ritual and norms of the Sikh tenets during the wedding ceremony.
Bhaur has now asked for an action against the SGPC staffers. He said that it was a violation of the Sikh beliefs and if anyone sits before the Guru Granth Sahib with a kalgi placed on the turban, this indicates that the person is considering himself equitable to the stature of Gurus.
On the other hand, Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja have been extending their gratitude towards all those who attended their wedding and were a part of it for making it the most memorable and magical moment of the year 2018 so far.
The couple is according to reports planning for an October-November honeymoon as they both have some work-related commitments that need to be fulfilled before they could leave for the honeymoon.
Sonam Kapoor would soon be seeing doing promotional activities for her upcoming film—Veere Di Wedding which would be releasing on the 1st of June.
