Snow covered Northern areas of Pakistan over the weekend as a new wave of icy weather and rain struck the regions of Azad Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other areas.
Snowfall continued to hit Kashmir and Gilgit Valley for a third day consecutively, resulting in land sliding in the area and causing hindrances on the roads.
As per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), more snowy days with rain are expected to fall in the coming days.
In the cities of Quetta, Malakand and Kalat the weather is expected to remain cold, while the temperature in Malam Jabba decreased to as low as -1 °C. In the meantime, the mercury is anticipated to be recorded at 3 °C in the cities of Murree and Quetta.
Heavy snowfall continued striking in Thandyani, Galyat and Battagram for the second day consecutively. While Kaghan and Naran also received heavy snowfall with rain.
During the past two days, Naran witnessed eight inches of snowfall while the lake Saiful Malook, Lolopat Sar and Babusar Top experienced over one feet of snow.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecasted rain in the plain areas of Hazara Division and snowfall in the upper regions during the span of next twenty-four hours.
