The Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited—SNGPL has given the approval to supply natural gas facility to as many as 25,000 families in the province of KP, as per the reports of local media.
The measure has been taken by the SNGPL on the guidelines of the federal government.
Regarding this, the energy adviser—Himayat Ullah said that the project would be costing Rs.2.5 billion from which rupees 950 million would be given by the provincial government.
Previously in the month of October, the KP government had launched 1 billion rupees for providing the natural gas to the Southern district of the province.
As per Sui Southern Gas Pipeline Limited, the district includes Kohat, Karak and Hangu as per the reports of local media.
On the completion of these projects, 70,000 households would be benefitted.
Mehmood Khan—the KP CM on the 30th of September had inaugurated the gas supply line in Dara Adam Khel.
The project which was completed with the cost of Rs.350 million would help in the provision of gas to the 5 clans of Dara Adam Khel, as mentioned by Mehmood Khan while making an address to the inaugural ceremony.
The CM had said that the amount of Rs.83 billion would be spent, annually for the uplifting of the tribal areas.
