Smog in the entire region of Punjab started creating health problems and travel issues since the temperatures started declining form mid-October. One possibility which can reduce the impact of smog is the rain. Since the rainfall has significantly decreased in Punjab due to changing weather conditions, the Smog gets stronger and stronger due to increased pollution, carbon emissions, less greenery, smoke from factories, dust, and low temperatures. All these factors contribute to developing Smog further.
Travelling in Punjab is becoming more and more difficult due to this widely spread smog especially during late and early morning hours. But the Smog is expected to be decreased especially in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and surrounding areas due to upcoming spells of rain.
According to the weather forecasts the northern areas are expected to get rains from the next week including Murree and Abbottabad. The effect of these rains would also be seen in the adjacent areas such as Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and surroundings.
Islamabad and Rawalpindi are expected to get scattered spells of rains during Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday next week. Hopefully, these rainy spells would significantly decrease Smog and improve the weather conditions the public is currently facing.
