Earlier today, smart lockdowns have been imposed in many more areas of Lahore and Gujranwala neighborhoods due to the increase in the COVID-19 cases.
As per the details, the Punjab Health Department has sealed another 17 areas in Lahore and 3 in Gujranwala as part of its continued smart lockdown drive where it imposes restrictions in areas where higher COVID-19 cases are reported to stop the spread of the virus.
The areas in Lahore will remain under lockdown until January 29th whereas Gujranwala’s neighborhoods will be locked down till January 25th.
The areas sealed in Lahore include; Canal View Society, Askari X, DHA, Sui as Society, and Allama Iqbal Town.
Moreover, all private and public offices, shopping malls, markets, and restaurants in the locked-down areas will remain closed during this period. Gatherings of more than 5 people are also banned.
As per the health department, these areas have seen a quick rise in COVID-19 cases in the past 2 weeks.
Only stores selling basic utilities like; grocery stores and pharmacies will be permitted to remain open from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm. Milk shops and fish and meat shops will be open from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.
Also, the Entry and exit to these areas are restricted and people not living in the area are not allowed to enter.
