It has been decided by the Sindh government to launch an anti-COVID-19 program. It is being launched on similar lines as a campaign against other diseases. It aims to curb the spread of coronavirus by spreading awareness amongst masses regarding its prevention and widening the plasma therapy range.
Sindh Blood Transfusion Authority (SBTA) Director Dr. Durre Naz Jamal said that the therapy is being launched in collaboration with the National Institute of Blood Diseases (NIBD). It has produced encouraging results.
Under the supervision of Sindh Health and Population Welfare Minister Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho the therapy results were recorded.
Also, a campaign for collecting plasma donations will soon launch as the province is running out of the samples that were collected earlier.
SBTA has a helpline for this purpose, as per Dr. Jamal. Also, Covid-19 patients interested in donating plasma can call on 0333-2976390 for getting further guidance.
Regarding rise in coronavirus cases, Dr. Jamal said, “The situation is getting worse and we appeal to the public to strictly practice social distancing.”
