On Monday Sindh government has placed a ban on illegal cattle markets in Karachi. The government has also issued standard operating procedure for establishing the markets in the city of lights, as per the reports of local media.
As per a notification issued by the home department of Sindh, the town municipal committees or administration were authorized for granting permission for setting up makeshift markets for sale or purchase of the sacrificial animals in their respective towns.
The setting up of cattle markets at the public places, grounds or on roads were barred, as per the notification. It further added that the markets could be set up at the private lands after taking permission from the property owners.
The notification also said that the availability of water, veterinary doctor, cleanliness, adequate security and proper lightning were the essential conditions for establishing the cattle markets in Karachi.
