Earlier today, the Government of Sindh appointed Dr.Sohail Rajput for the post of Commissioner Karachi. On the other hand, the former Karachi Commissioner Iftikhar Shallwani has been transferred to the post of secretary Local Government and Housing Town Planning Department, reported The News.
Dr.Sohail Rajput’s appointment as a new Commissioner for Karachi has been approved by Murad Ali Shah Chief Minister of Sindh.
Rajput was earlier a Grade 21 government officer. He joined the civil service back in 1991. Before his appointment as a new commissioner of the port city, Dr.Sohail Rajput was serving as an Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Finance.
He has also been appointed as Secretary Finance Sindh, Secretary Local Government Sindh, Principal Secretary to CM Sindh, and Commissioner Hyderabad Division.
Back in 2018, his services shifted towards the Federal Government where Rajput was hired as an Additional Secretary to the Ministry of Finance.
Recently, he got transferred back to the Sindh Government once again this year on the 18th of August, and soon he is going to take charge as a new Commissioner of the port city Karachi.
