Sindh Government Announces Closure of Restaurants and Shopping Malls

The provincial government has ordered the closure of restaurants and shopping malls across the province for 15 days. Aiming to curb the spread of novel coronavirus  COVID-19 this decision has been taken by the provincial government.  

A spokesperson from the government said that for 15 days, all restaurants, malls, shopping centres, and parks will remain closed.

K-Electric has been directed by the government to ensure an uninterrupted power supply.

All grocery and medical stores can remain open 24/7. Also, takeaways and deliveries will be permitted as per the spokesman.

Senator Murtaza Wahab said, “All restaurants, malls, shopping centers will be closed in Sindh from tomorrow. Only takeaways & deliveries will be allowed. Section 144 also to be imposed at beaches & parks. It is clarified that shopping stores & chemists will remain open. Citizens are once again urged to cooperate.”

Also, the vegetable, fruit, fish and chicken markets will remain open across the province.

CM Murad Ali Shah announced measures to combat the disease. He said that it is important to prevent the spread of coronavirus. He expressed fear that if the virus spreads it will get difficult for doctors to cope with the influx of patients, keeping the health infrastructure of the province in mind.

He said that they want people to stay home as a precautionary measure to stop the virus from being transmitted to others. Also, the provincial government has decided to keep the government offices closed. Furthermore, it has been decided to suspend inter-city bus services and close Sea View beach and public parks for the public from tomorrow.
