Sialkot International Airport remained closed on Tuesday for the flight operations and would remain closed until the 24th of May. The airport has been closed for repair work at its runways.
Abdul Shakoor Mirza—the spokesperson said that all flights had been rescheduled in order to avoid any inconvenience at the end of passengers.
Furthermore, Pakistan International Airlines—PIA has also suspended its flight operations at the Sialkot Airport.
The national flag carrier made the announcement on Tuesday and added that all the flights have been shifted to the Lahore Airport.
The spokesperson of PIA did not provide any details that whether the decision of the national airline is temporary or permanent. However, as per a source familiar with the development, the suspension of flight operations is going to last for a longer span of time.
The PIA spokesperson said that Saudi Arabia headed flights would also take off from the Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore.
He apologized to the customers of the national flag carrier flying to and from Sialkot for the trouble. No reason has been provided by the airline as to why the flights have been shifted to the Lahore airport from the Sialkot airport.
