The shuttle train service between Lahore and Gujranwala is to start from Monday, as per the reports of local media.
Sheikh Rasheed, the Minister for Railways has said that a new shuttle train service would be commenced between the two cities that is Lahore and Gujranwala from Monday.
While addressing a news conference in Lahore, he said that one-side fates of 100 rupees would be charged. The rate has been fixed for facilitating the passengers.
He also mentioned that in the first phase, 3 shuttle trains would be operated daily from and to Lahore.
Previously, an announcement was made regarding the commencement of the shuttle train service on the orders of the federal minister for Railways.
As per the recent development, Pakistan Railways has launched a cross border freight train service to the neighbouring countries like Afghanistan. The train Goods in Transit to Afghanistan (GITA) was inaugurated on Friday.
The newly inaugurated train would be transiting cargo from Karachi towards Chaman and Kandahar.
