A show-cause notice has been issued on Tuesday (today) to the Chairman of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
As per the details, a monitoring team of the electoral body issued the notice to Bilawal Bhutto—the member of the National Assembly—for trying to influence the elections in NA-205 (Ghotki).

The details further said that other veteran leaders of PPP including, former CM Sindh Qaim Ali Shah, Khursheed Shah, Nasir Hussain Shah have also been issued notices by the Election Commission of Pakistan demanding answers for the involvement and campaigning in the favour of party’s candidate in the constituency.
On the other hand, a member of Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) Sardar Ali Mehr has also been issued a show-cause by the election commission along with assembly members Islam Sheikh and Ali Nawaz Mehr.
It is pertinent to mention here that by-election in the NA-205 Ghotki-II is likely to be delayed for seven days or more due to the ongoing case in the Sindh High Court (SHC) against the candidate of the Pakistan People’s Party.
As per the statement issued by the ECP, the Sindh High Court (SHC) ordered to stop the election commission from publishing the ballot papers till July 16.
The high court will announce the verdict on July 16.
“It is not possible to print the ballot papers for the by-polls within one day after the announcement of the judgment of by the high court on July 6,” the Election Commission of Pakistan said.
While keeping these things in mind, the election commission is considering to hold the by-elections in NA-2015 Ghotki on July 25 instead of the scheduled date which is July 18.
