The government of Pakistan has offered India to construct a railway track from Kartarpur to the Indian border.
Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed—the Minister for Railways was the one to make this offer while inspecting the newly-built Narowal railway station.
Later while conversing with media, the federal minister for railways said that they are all set to build a railway track from Kartarpur to the Indian border. He said that he vows that after some time they would be starting a rail car from Lahore, Narowal through Sialkot to Rawalpindi.
When the federal minister left from Narowal, the management took away the flower pots from the railway station which were just placed there for decoration purpose, chairs for passengers and the walk-through gates were also removed.
Previously, a band was played and rose petals were showered on the railways minister when he arrived at the railway station.
He was warmly welcomed at the Sialkot railway station. While talking to the media along with the Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Youth Affairs—Usman Dar, Umer Dar—the president of the PTI Central Punjab and others he said that the construction of a railway line would facilitate the Sikh community.
He also said that the government was making tiresome efforts to improve the railway journey for the people throughout Pakistan, other than of bringing them out of the financial loses.
He also announced the rehabilitation of passenger train and rail car on the Lahore-Chawinda-Sialkot section within the span of the next 6 months for giving improved railway journey services to the commuters.
