The Sindh High Court (SHC) has ordered to take down the billboards from public properties and buildings across Karachi. These orders have been released in order to ensure the implementation of the orders of the apex court about billboards and hoardings.
As per the shared details, a two-judge SHC bench disregarded a written petition asking for the removal of billboards. The court asked the civic authorities to take down the billboards from the public properties according to the directives of the top court.
It also asked the cantonment boards and the private companies to implement the orders of the Supreme Court.
The petitioner mentioned that there are many places where the billboards are still installed which is in violation of the directives of the apex court and asked the court to instruct the authorities to bring them down.
On the 8th of August, the SC ordered to remove all the advertising billboards across the city. A bench of the top court, led by the Chief Justice of Pakistan-Gulzar Ahmed had given the order while he was listening to a case relating to the illegal installation of the billboards on the public and private properties as well as on the roads throughout the city.
