Yesterday (Saturday) night, Shamoon Ismail’s concert organized by Salt Arts at the Avari Towers Hotel in Karachi was stopped midway.
Assistant Commissioner Sherina Asad with his police team visited the hotel and stopped the concert in the middle. Also, the police team slapped a fine of Rs.100, 000 on the organizers of the show.
Sherina Asad asked everyone to follow SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) as the concerts and recreational activities can wait because the public’s health is very important. He advised everyone to stay home and stay safe.

According to the reports, the concert was being held at the poolside. The organizers of the show Salt Arts through their social media platforms ensured that all SOPs are going to be followed and made face masks obligatory during the concert.
As per Irshad Sodhar South Deputy Commissioner, the concert was stopped after the police received a complaint that the COVID-19 SOPs were not being followed at the event.
He said that the violations against the SOPs is intolerable.
Sodhar further added that the government has imposed a ban on all indoor gatherings and weddings inside marriage halls. Moreover, nobody is allowed to host outdoor events with more than 300 people. Facemasks have been made compulsory in all public places.
These decisions came after the experts warned that Pakistan is undergoing the second wave of the novel coronavirus.
