More than dozen industrial facilities in Bhimber and Mirpur shut down reportedly due to the negligence and indifference by the government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. According to the reports government of AJK is not cooperating with industrial units in terms of providing incentives.
Stakeholders claim that government has been failed to develop a revival plan for these jammed units at Mirpur and Bhimber, as a result investments worth millions are blocked, plants and machinery is being rusted due to government’s unresponsive behavior.
According to stakeholders not even a single operational unit can be seen at Bhimber Industrial Estate for the last 2 years, and called upon the concerned authorities to take action to make these units operational by promoting tax incentives and initiating revival plan.
Businessmen said, the AJK government should cooperate with business community and allow the old machinery for rehabilitation by deferring all previous dues and bills of government departments and incorporating easy installments.
The issues related to Federal Tax Laws should be resolved other taxes on duty and exports should also be announced for AJK, they said.
Stakeholders also requested government to introduce financial package by involving banks to assist industrialists to make these units operational.
