Seven officials of Karachi Police have tested positive for coronavirus

It has been reported that seven officials of Karachi Police have been tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

The chief of Karachi Police Ghulam Nabi Memon on Monday said that as many as seven officials of Karachi Police have been diagnosed with the COVID-19 and sent to the isolation centers.

“Seven officials of the Sindh Police Department were found to have been infected with the virus,” the Additional Inspector General Police (AIGP) Memon said during the media talk.

While sharing the details about the policemen, he said that the cops had not been performing the lockdown duties, but had been deployed as drivers or working at the offices of various departments.

As per the details, the police officials infected with the novel coronavirus include a driver of the Karachi police administration department, a personal staff officer, a gunman, and a staffer of the investigation department.

AIGP Memon said that the clear directives have been issued for the police officials by the authorities to adopt the preventive measures, including wearing of face masks and gloves, and maintain a suitable distance from each other.
