A high-level meeting was held chaired by Syed Tahir Shahbaz in which it was decided that automated system must be set up for simplifying pension system in the government departments. The meeting was attended by ministries representatives along with AGPR and Controller General of Accounts.

A detailed briefing was given by the Deputy Accountant General of AGPR Sana Riaz on e-pension and automation system. She revealed that 94% and 80% pension of gazatted officers and non-gazatted pensioner is channelized via the automated pension system. All of them are receiving their pensions via their accounts from scheduled banks.

Furthermore AGPR received 9856 pension cases in 2018 out of which 9845 were successfully resolved. In all departments Pension cells have been set up under the orders of Wafaqi Mohtasib. These cells start the case of employee pension, a year before his/her date of superannuation.

A new policy is worked upon through which a retired government worker will receive 65% of his basic pay as anticipatory pension in case the pension papers are not finalized by the department.
