Usman Buzdar—the Chief Minister has made the announcement of a special program for the senior citizens in which a monthly stipend would be granted to the people above the age of 65 years.
On the occasion of the World Senior Citizen Day, the chief minister said that the elderly people are the asset of the country and to provide protection to their rights in the responsibility of everyone.
He said that it is the moral and religious obligation of everyone to take care of senior citizens. He added that the Punjab government has begun a special program for the senior citizens in which all people in the province, above the age of 65 years would get a monthly allowance.
He informed that Rs.3 billion have been allocated for the program.
A day before, Shahbaz Gill—the spokesperson of the Punjab Chief Minister has made the announcement that a monthly stipend for girls and women who have survived through an acid attack has also been set.
Other than giving a monthly stipend, the government has also constituted on the matter for eradicating the practice of the acid attacks, Gill said that during his visit to a house of an acid attack survivor in Gujrat.
