For the betterment of the country’s economy, SCCI invited Belgian investors to invest in different projects under the framework of CPEC.
Sherbaz Bilour – President, Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) – recently had a meeting with the Belgium Ambassador, Philippe Bronchain. In the meeting, Bilour emphasized the importance of investing in projects like hydel power, oil & gas, mines & mineral, gemstones, tourism, agriculture, and other sectors under the framework of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Speaking on the occasion, the Belgium Ambassador said that his country was also interested in making investments in Pakistan. And he assured on playing a constructive role in building a strong image of Pakistan in his country.
Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) and Brussels Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), both agreed to soon sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) so as to enhance trade linkages between the two countries.
It’s reported that the meeting discussed various prospects to enhance bilateral trade, investment, and joint ventures between Belgium and Pakistan.
Belgium is an important country in Europe, with Brussels being the European Union’s (EU) headquarter. Strengthening trade ties with Belgium could also help Pakistan maintain and improve the EU’s Generalised Scheme of Preferences (GSP) plus status.
