On Thursday the Supreme Court has given the orders to the authorities for reviving the Karachi Circular Railway in one month. The apex court expressed displeasure with the non-implementation of its instructions.
The orders came during the hearing session of a case relating to the encroachments in the city.
Justice Gulzar Ahmed led the bench of the top court at its Karachi registry, instructed the secretary of railways to eradicate the encroachments from the land of railways within a span of 2 weeks.
The judge inquired whether they are unaware of the given orders. He made this inquiry while criticizing the secretary railways and other concerned officials over their incompetence to get the court orders implemented.

The bench instructed the Sindh chief secretary to introduce an anti-encroachment drive with the assistance of the mayor of Karachi and other related officials for clearing the railway’s land of encroachments.
Earlier, that is in 2018, the SC had instructed the authorities to revive the Karachi Circular Railway on an immediate basis.
The apex court instructed the civic authorities to clear all the railway tracks throughout the city of encroachments.
The Divisional Superintendent of the Pakistan Railways told the court that the track of railways in the different city areas have got encroachments upon it.
