The authorities have been instructed on Thursday by the Supreme Court of Pakistan to put the names of the previous managing directors of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) of the last ten years on the Exit Control List (ECL).
During the hearing session of a suo moto case today relating the privatization of the national assets, Mian Saqib Nisar—the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) directed the authorities to place the name of the managing directors who have served the national airline in the last ten years on the ECL, as per the reports of local media.
The Chief Justice said that all the ones who have ruined the national flag carrier are traitors and enemies. The Supreme Court also directed that a list of all the chairmen, managing directors and advisors of PIA who have served the airline in any way has to be submitted.
The court was briefed that the national airline has suffered a loss of rupees 260.39 billion in the span of last seventeen years. The top court of the nation asked for a report from the federal government on the privatization of Pakistan International Airlines and has summoned the attorney general for the next hearing session.
On the 6th of April, the Chief Justice of Pakistan called all the managing directors of the airline, holding the charge in the last ten years to appear before the apex court on the 12the of April that is today.
