SBP has approved RS. 238.2 billion for some 2,958 businesses

So far, SBP has approved RS. 238.2 billion for some 2,958 businesses as they were badly impacted due to COVID-19.

SBP, so far, has approved RS. 238.2 billion for some 2,958 businesses. The funds will be distributed under the Rozgar scheme.

Previously, SBP has already distributed Rs. 659.5 billion under the same scheme. These initiatives are taken to facilitated businesses impacted by COVID-19.

SBP also allowed restructuring or rescheduling of around Rs. 207.5 billion.

The total number of borrowers who would get benefit from this relief has risen to 1,572,428, with outstanding amount of Rs 2.514 billion.

The bank under this scheme has approved financing of Rs. 7.77 billion for some 39 hospitals to combat Covid-19.

It was also informed that the central bank approved 243 projects with an amount of Rs. 193.25 billion. However, it received requests for 425 projects amounting to Rs. 437.15 billion.

In addition to this, from March 20 to November 20, SBP had issued fresh currency notes to commercial banks worth Rs 1.136 trillion.
