The Savour Food employees attacked the government officials for barring them from using plastic bags.
On the 14th of August a complete ban on using plastic bags was imposed in Islamabad and since then, the city authorities have been visiting shops in various areas of the city confiscating plastic bags and placing fines on anyone found using them.
The efforts of the city authorities are definitely paying off as presently it is tough to find any shop using plastic bags. The authorities have personally visited both small and big businesses including Punjab Cash and Carry, Centaurus Mall, MCC, Giga Mall, and many other notable firms.
However, recently when the team of the Pakistan Environmental Protection Agency and Climate Change officials went for the purpose of inspection to Savour Foods—a famous chain of Pulao Kebab in the capital city, they were attacked by the staff.
The authorities were accompanied by the media personnel and the scenes were captured on TV.
The decision of banning the use of plastic bags is being appreciated widely by the people, however, at the same time, people are also finding it hard to deal with the change.
Most of the people are seen carrying their stuff in hands owing to the lack of interest of the businesses in providing an alternative to the plastic bags.
