Saudi Arabia has opened doors for Qatari pilgrims to come and perform Hajj in Mecca as per the media of Saudi Arabia.
As Saudi Arabia and three other Gulf countries cut ties with Qatar in June, a meeting was held between these nations and then this announcement was made. Qatar was accused of aiding terrorists, the charge that Qatar completely denies.
The pilgrims from Qatar are allowed to perform Hajj via Salwa border crossing. Also, the doors of Saudi Airports would be open for the pilgrims.
In the previous month, Saudi Arabia warned that pilgrims from Qatar would be allowed to attend Hajj but with certain restrictions. Qatar response on it was that the Saudi government is politicizing Hajj. Now after the meeting between Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Al Saud and Qatari Sheikh Abdullah bin Ali bin Abdullah bin Jassim Al Thani, the changed statement has come up, welcoming Qatari pilgrims in the country.
It is felt though that despite this step, the conflict between the nations is not over at all. We can hope that it might pave a way towards betterment and conflict resolution between the nations.
