Saudi Arabia to Invest in Solar Energy Sector in Balochistan

Saudi Arabia is looking to invest in solar projects in Balochistan. The Pakistan government is in talks with the Kingdom to invest in the solar energy sector.

Power and Petroleum Minister, Omer Ayub Khan shared the details stating that talks are going on between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia to invest $4 billion to boost the energy sector in Balochistan.

During the launching ceremony of the Economic Survey 2018-2019, the Federal Minister announced the news.

The untapped, deprived province of Pakistan does have huge potential for solar energy generation. It will be a reliable and affordable source of energy for the masses. This news has come as a relief for the Balochi people.

The people living in Balochistan have been deprived for decades. It is high time that the resources in Balochistan are utilized and the people are able to benefit from it. The projects like solar energy projects will boost the economy of the province and they will be a social uplift.

The $5 billion Khalifa Point oil refinery will begin its operations by the end of the 2019-2020 fiscal years. The refinery will have the capacity to produce 250,000 barrels of oil per day.
