Saudi Arabi has stopped the opening of the halal nightclub. The Saudi authorities on Saturday took the decision of closing the Halal nightclub. The nightclub was supposed to open in the coastal city but after a strong backlash on social media the club’s opening was halted.
Dubai and Beirut nightclub brand—White said that this week a new branch would be opened in Jeddah, as per the reports of The New Arab.
The brand also tweeted that they would only be serving non-alcoholic cocktails and drinks in the nightclub. The tweet was posted in Arabic-language with the hashtag #JeddahDisco.
The protestors of the move showed their frustration under the rival hashtag by writing that they do not accept forbidden acts on the Jeddah beach.
The Saudi General Authority for Entertainment has placed a stop on the social media wars in the Kingdom when it announced that it was launching an immediate investigation to the night club opening that had been a violation of the legal proceedings and had not earned any legal license.
Ne-Yo an American singer had also been lined up for its opening night, with entry costing in between €71- €222 per person.
The American singer posted on his Instagram handle that he was excited to perform and was on his way to the venue that was informed that it had been shut down.
