On Wednesday, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia decided to restore its domestic flight operation from the 31st of May after the country announced a relaxation in the coronavirus lockdown measures.
The state news agency Saudi Gazette said that the (GACA) General Authority of Civil Aviation has announced that the domestic flights will be restored in phases for all the domestic destinations in two weeks.
All the operational preparations have been completed by the authority for the resumption of domestic flights. As per General Authorities’ statement, they have ensured a safe travel journey for travelers as the Saudi airport is going to take all safety precautions and health measures in cooperation with the related government agencies and with the Ministry of Health.
In the first phase, eleven airports will be used as the Saudi airlines allowed the following cities to operate flights which include; Dammam, Madinah, Riyadh, Hail, Jeddah, Al-Baha, Qassim, Najran, Jazan, Abha and Tabuk.
The first phase will resume sixty flights every day.
The domestic flights were halted in Saudi Arabia on the 21st of March by the General Authority of Civil Aviation due to the spread of the Coronavirus.
