“Sanju”—the Rajkumar Hirani’s film on Sanjay Dutt’s life has already been under controversy previously because of a scene of leaking toilet which portrayed a negative image of the Indian jail authorities. As per the latest developments, a complaint has been launched against Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma for a scene shown in the trailer which was considered offensive by the viewers.
The complaint has been launched by an activist—Gaurav Gulati. According to the reports of ANI, the complaint letter states that it is being lodged for drawing attention towards the cheap and disgraceful dialogues being used in the upcoming film—Sanju by the Bollywood stars—Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma.
The scene shows Anushka Sharma asking Ranbir Kapoor a personal question. Both the stars were playing their respective roles in the movie, Anushka playing a biographer and Ranbir playing the lead role of Sanju. The question was about Sanju’s affairs to which his reply was a round off figure of three hundred and fifty—” “308, without counting the sex workers.”
The above statement has not been taken lightly by many viewers and what could be the possible justification to it as viewers feel that this was an insulting remark towards the sex workers.
In the film Paresh Rawal would be seen playing the role of Sanjay’s father—Sunil Dutt and Manisha Koirala as Nargis. Dia Mirza features as his wife—Maanyata and Sonam Kapoor plays one of Sanjay’s girlfriend. Vicky Kaushal, Karishma Tanna and Jim Sarbh would also be seen in the Rajkumar Hirani directed movie.
The film is expected to release on the 29th of June.
