A Cheaper version of Samsung Galaxy S20 is underway, the new device is expected to come in early 2021, as Samsung is planning to launch Galaxy S20 Lite. A few months ago, Samsung presented the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite and Note 10 Lite as well, two new, cheaper models from its two flagship series, which should make some of the features of the top models more affordable. Now you are working on the successor to the S10 Lite. The experiment seems to go well with Samsung and now more planned under the same capacity.
As the colleagues from SamMobile report, citing their mostly well-informed sources from the Samsung area, the Korean electronics giant has recently been working on a device that comes with the model number SM-G780 or SM-G781. As a reminder: the S10 Lite has the model number SM-G770 so that the new product could obviously be a direct successor if Samsung adheres to its usual practice of designing the model numbers.
Specifically, the Galaxy SM-G780 is the European variant of the successor to the Galaxy S10 Lite, while the SM-G781 is the American version. This suggests that Samsung, like the current high-end smartphones in the S20 series, is once again using a two-pronged strategy for the hardware base. While the devices come here with the Samsung Exynos 990, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 is used exclusively in the USA. The same could be true for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S20 “Lite”.
Samsung speaks internally of the “S20 Fan Edition”
Internally, Samsung calls the new smartphone expected in early 2021 also “Galaxy S20 Fan Edition”, although it is unclear whether this name should also be retained for the official launch for marketing purposes. It would still be conceivable that Samsung would prefer to speak of a “Fan Edition” instead of the term “Lite”. The device may not launch in Pakistan soon, because Mobile Price Pakistan has only S20 listed. In addition to the model number and internal name, there are no details on the possible specifications of the cheaper S20 model.
There is only talk that the new smartphone should come with the new Samsung One UI 2.5, which is also still under development. However, the introduction of the new smartphone should not be expected until spring 2021, so that the equipment and naming can still change a bit.
