Samsung is directly competing Motorola Razr in this case, the phone is designed almost similar to the upcoming Moto Razr which is starting preorders on Jan 26 and would be available exclusively with Verizon on February 6.
Talking about the specifications, Samsung’s Flip-screen flagship comes in a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED screen; the outer screen part is replaced with ultra-thin glass instead of plastic.
The phone carries Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC, along with 256GB internal storage, the battery capacity could be between 3300-3500mAh. The phone will also support the side-mounted fingerprint sensor and reverse wireless charging.
The Galaxy Z Flip is powered by the main 12MP dual-camera and 10MP front selfie camera. However, the secondary camera specifications are unclear at the moment, but looking at Moto Razr’s specs it could be TOF 3D camera sensor just like Razr’s.
The external screen of Galaxy Z Flip can also be used as a viewfinder, which means users can take selfies with rear cameras as well. The Galaxy Z Flip will be released soon after Motorola releases Moto Razr on February 6. Samsung is holding the launch event on February 11, meet the new Galaxy Z Flip there at the event. The phone is priced at $1500 according to some reports and Max Weinbach on Twitter mentioned that it would cost 1400 Euros.
