Samsung: Galaxy Note 20 Plus Rumored to have A Periscope Camera

The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 is due to break cover in August sometime, but questions remain about how capable its camera setup will be. However, a new leak suggests one particular detail that has our hopes up.

About GalaxyClub, which says its sources suggest the most expensive Note 20 model will include a periscope camera: the kind where components are arranged to stretch the back of the casing, allowing for higher levels of zoom.

That’s interesting because the Galaxy S20 Ultra also includes a periscope mechanism – so these look like similar cameras, even if the rumors that the Note 20 is going to abandon the 100x ‘Space Zoom’ feature turn out to be true.

Even if 100x digital zoom for the Galaxy Note 20 range is off the cards, a periscope camera would deliver better than average zoom capabilities. The premium Note 20 model may end up matching, or even going higher, the 4x optical zoom on the S20 Ultra.

This latest leak only mentions the Galaxy Note 20 Plus, one of two or maybe three handsets we ‘re expecting in August. Like the Galaxy S20 series before it, camera specs could be one of the key differentiators between these new handsets.

Also noteworthy is that the jump from the Galaxy S range to the Galaxy Note range is not often a huge one. The Note 10 Plus last year had the same rear camera as the S10 Plus except for an extra depth sensor.

We’ve seen plenty of leaks and rumors up to this point about the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 series, including high-quality renders that purport to show the finished handset designs. For something that seems like a cross between Note 10 and the Galaxy S20, we could be in line.
