At least four people including two women were gunned down after the officials of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) opened fire on a car in Sahiwal city while they were en route to Wehari from Lahore on Saturday.
According to the details, the alto c car–the victims were travelling in–was owned by Adeel Hafeez, a terrorist who was killed during an intelligence-based operation by the security forces in Faisalabad.
Adeel bought the car through an online selling and purchasing app for Rs680,000 from a man identified as Saqib Muhammad.
According to the details, the alto car was under the use of Zeeshan who was killed during the Sahiwal encounter by the Counter Terrorism Department. CTD further claimed that Zeeshan has been suspected of having links with terrorist organization Daesh.
As per the press release issued by the CTD, a selfie of Zeeshan with Usman, another terrorist killed in Faisalabad earlier, has been recovered from his mobile after the encounter.
However, the Chief Minister of Punjab Usman Buzdar has removed the top officials of the Punjab Police from their posts and decided to prosecute the officials of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) involved in the incident under anti-terror law.
During a media talk in Lahore, the Law Minister of Punjab Raja Basharat said that Sahiwal incident is a test case for the PTI-led government of Punjab and the provincial government will fulfill all the requirements for justice.
