Rs. 30 million distributed in the form of cheques to the affectees in Upper Kohistan of the Dasu Dam project. On occasion, Hazara Division Commissioner Riaz Khan Mehsud said the people of Kohistan district are peaceful and that the government hopes support from the locals for the timely construction and completion of the Dasu Dam.
The commissioner paid a visit to Kohistan district, where he met religious scholars and members of civil society and discussed the current situation of the Kohistan district in detail.
It is hoped that the locals of Dasu would play a vital role in removing obstacles in the construction of the dam and ensure all possible cooperation.
On occasion, MNA Malik Afrin Khan and other administration officials were also present. On his visit, the commissioner planted spring trees in the secretariat under the Clean and Green Pakistan campaign. He inaugurated the drive and distributed various types of plants among the people.
It is informed that the commissioner addressed the participants and said that everyone should plant a tree to make Kohistan a prosperous district.
During a meeting session, it was highlighted that 2,582 acres of land has been acquired for the construction of the Dasu Dam and work on the acquisition of another 1,935 acres was under process.
To compensate the landowners, the government has distributed Rs. 6.36 billion.
