Ring Road Residencia (RRR) has been declared an illegal housing project by Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA). As per RDA Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MPTE) Director Jamshaid Aftab there has been illegal & unauthorized advertisement going on by RRR.

Mr. Aftab said that the legal action has been taken against Rawalpindi Ring Road Residencia under Punjab Private Housing schemes and Land Subdivision Rules 2010. The housing scheme has been asked to stop disseminating illegal advertisements.

The general public is advised by RDA to not make investments in the illegal housing schemes and building projects. If they will, it will be their own loss, thus the investments must be done after they know whether it is legally approved by RDA or not.

RDA Spokesman Hafiz Muhammad Irfan said,  “RDA Director General (DG) Rao Atif Raza has directed the MPTE Directorate to take strict action against all illegal housing schemes, illegal and unauthorized commercial and residential construction activities and encroachments without any fear or favor.”

Earlier Rawalpindi Municipal Corporation (RMC) has put a pause on the new development schemes worth Rs150 million in Rawalpindi after Election Commission of Pakistan ECP banned the new development schemes as the general election approaches.

Furthermore in May Supreme Court of Pakistan also forbade Bahria Town Karachi to sell or transfer land plot & other properties. Supreme Court’s Karachi Registry two-member bench declared that the plots allotment & transfer in Bahria Town Karachi is illegal.

Then in June, it came into light that Bahria Town Karachi is being built without NOCs, violating basic building rules and regulations. SBCA is the regulatory body that issues NOCs to all constructions that take place in Sindh.
